TIMELINE
Department Of Engineering
Owns end-to-end robot development: mechanical design, electronics, embedded firmware, robotics software, integration, and debugging.
Research, Validation & Documentation
Improves performance through R&D, benchmarking, simulation, testing, and technical documentation.
Program Operations & Partnerships
Runs execution and external relations: planning, coordination, sponsorships, communications, and web presence.
Qualifications
We welcome applications from students and early-career engineers who are passionate about robotics and willing to learn fast. You do not need to be an expert, but you must be reliable and serious about building real systems.
Core Requirements
- Demonstrated interest in robotics, automation, engineering, or AI, with a clear motivation for joining the team.
- Working familiarity in at least one area: software, embedded systems, electronics, mechanical design/assembly, testing & validation, or operations/media.
- Strong learning mindset and ability to incorporate feedback through iteration, testing, and improvement.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment with clear communication and accountability.
- Comfort with hands-on engineering work (build, wiring, debugging, testing) or structured contributions (documentation, planning, outreach).
- Consistent time commitment of approximately 6–10 hours per week during the semester, with additional availability near key milestones, demos, or competitions.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Prior project experience (personal projects, coursework, competitions, internships, research labs, or maker activities).
- Familiarity with at least one relevant toolchain:
- Software: Python/C++, ROS/ROS2, Linux, Git
- Mechanical: CAD (SolidWorks/Fusion 360), 3D printing, basic manufacturing
- Electronics: sensors, motor drivers, soldering, Arduino/ESP32/STM32
- AI / Vision: OpenCV, dataset labeling, YOLO training/inference
- Operations: event planning, sponsor outreach, content creation, WordPress
Professional Working Style
- Strong problem-solving approach: able to explain what was attempted, what results were observed, and what the next steps are.
- Good documentation habits: maintains clear notes, diagrams, build logs, commits, and short technical summaries.
